Desktop – July 2013
Opps, I haven’t updated my personal side blog for a while now, but here is something that should hold some for a while. With that, my Windows 8 experiment is over and while the performance was nice, Microsoft forcing people to use the Metro UI and the pointless Start Screen and somewhat buggy (I couldn’t get the internal keyboard detect it as a Japanese keyboard layout since I have one). It’s unusable without installing Start8 to bring back the Windows 7 start menu. With that, I downloaded a copy of Windows 7 Professional from Dreamspark Premium (as I’m still a student) and decided on installing the Japanese version. Compared with Windows 8, I missed the ability to change the system font. But yes, it took hours to reinstall all the games I had, site survey tools and Object Desktop.

Also spent the time last week downloading and cropping new wallpapers to use in OS X Mountain Lion…
What a week…
Everyone should have known by already that there was a Boston bombing at the marathon that happened early this week. I didn’t know about it in full until the next day. From that day on, I have been following coverage on this manhunt and at 9 PM after I finished eating dinner, I found out that they finally capture Tamerlan Tsarnaev hiding under a boat, which is very surprising as I thought he would have been on the loose. But hopefully they will bring him to justice and find out why he did it.
Feeling Lethargic
As you might have already know, I have been checked for an over active thyroid since I probably have an unhealthy diet or took in too much iodine. At the same time, I’m becoming stressed out by the lack of comments and drop in followers. I know these numbers are just for show. Since Google messed around with their image source, I have lost a lot of traffic. Because of that, I base success on subscribers and comments made on my blog. However, I have become upset by the lack of comments on my blog as it might be an indication that I’m doing something wrong. I know that I am overreacting since other bloggers have it a lot worse, but it has some effect on my motivation to keep blogging.
So, I encourage everyone to leave a comment or a like (if you don’t have comment, but still liked what you read) as it shows I’m doing something right. If you have any suggestions on how I can improve, just send constructive criticism so I can improve.
Some Life Updates
Well, I haven’t been writing anything in the past two days since there isn’t anything to write about… so I may as well write a small update on my personal sideblog… Here is what I’m doing.
- Hyperthyroidism again – It seems like this disease is back, probably from eating the wrong foods. It’s at the early stages, so it won’t be bad, but I need to take more medicine again.
- Atelier Meruru Let’s Play – I’m recording more episodes starting tomorrow for two hours a day. With that, I will be editing and uploading more episodes, although I doubt that I will finish the game when break ends. Also, the Plus version of the game just got shipped today, so I will be going over some differences in a bonus episode when I figure out a setup to record my Vita games. I will be giving a rough translation to some new events in the game and show the changing of outfits.
- Monster Monpiece – I’m playing the game and it’s pretty fun. I will be writing first impressions of it during the weekend one I play a few hours of it.
