Two words to News Corp… Fuck you!

Crunchyroll felt like trolling people with their private viewing of 5 Centimeters per Second
Its true that ADV lost the licensed to the most beautiful movie that I reviewed yesterday. Just recently, Crunchyroll obtain the rights to redistribute it with a re-do of the whole dub. However, someone at AnimeSuki became dissatisfied when Crunchyroll decided to be an ass and ruin the ending of the movie.
One sour note – believe it or not, Viz Cinema cut off the screening in the middle of “One More Time, One More Chance”! Seriously – with about 5 minutes left, the house lights came up and some moron from Crunchyroll started telling everyone that they were going to cut the movie short so that they could start the VIP reception in the lobby.
Because of their dicky move, I decided to boycott Crunchyroll for this despicable act… I mean, such a good movie doesn’t deserve this kind of treatment. It was also disrespectful towards Makoto Shinkai who made this masterpiece. They owe everyone an apology for doing this…
Then again, it doesn’t matter anyway because I don’t like Crunchyroll and I don’t like their practices of locking users into the flash player or the iphone app for streaming without the option to download the episode to any device.

I had a long discussion about me getting work up with Comic Sans on Melative. I know its just a font and nobody should really care so much… I wouldn’t have mind if it wasn’t used EVERYWHERE on EVERYTHING!
For a history lesson, the font was created since someone got sick of Times New Roman being used in a comic. After the font was created, it’s practically spread like wildfire since its availability (It can be found in any version of Windows and Mac OS X.) Because its availability, it started being overused on tests, signs, advertising, memos, etc.
So, why people get so worked up about the font? Mainly because the people in my and younger generations grew up with the font. I have to admit, I have used the font when I am in elementary school, but I don’t anymore. It’s mainly because it feels childish and immature. If you were to hand in a research paper in Comic Sans, I’m pretty sure that your professor would take a lot of points off in doing so.
Many can argue that Comic Sans is very easy to read. I do agree, except with long writing where it could become tiring to read because of the style of the font. This is probably a reason why you don’t see this font on most blogs, websites and books, simply because serif and san-serif fonts are easier to read for longer works.
So, was it worth it going berserk over looking at a short email in Comic Sans? Absolutely not… even though I expect College Professors to use a different font that projects the message better. Then again, popular consensus on things like aesthetics, it’s always going to be opinionated… So that’s saying, if they don’t like the font just because its cool to hate it, be my guest because haters gonna hate.
More Anime Industry Angst… “Black Butler” Author directs the blame at the Consumer… Great!
Doesn’t these posts I written in the past sound familiar? Anime is dead? BULLSHIT! , Chris Beveridge, Asinine remarks and the Anime Mafia and RAEGing about the Anime Industry… doesn’t solve anything. I wouldn’t be so angry if the author of “Black Butler”, Yana Toboso didn’t blame the consumer… but she did.
She does make some valid points and we all know that the artists, production team, etc get hardly anything after the production is all done and over with. What I don’t agree with is shoving the blame to the fans and consumers since it will always turn out bad.
The problem these days is that the industry directs the blame on fansubs and scanlatons when DVDs costs 40 buck a pop for 7 episodes or 10-12 dollar a pop for one volume of manga. Do you expect a high school or college student to afford this? No… Even though there are streaming services for Anime, the sub/picture (if you aren’t subscribed) quality is still rather poor, doesn’t allow me to view on any portable device without an internet connection and its limited to select regions. Top that off, there is no viable legal manga site that allows people to read it legally. How are you going to solve the problem when there is no solution that will work for anyone? If not, you have no right to complain because ultimately, you are going to get the fans enraged and they won’t buy your products… simple as that…
Also, I’m not going to buy every anime out there just so I can watch it. The only situation I will buy the DVD is when I like the series and want to own it or when there is a licensed series I want to watch badly. Otherwise, I’m not going to make a blind purchase just because it’s immoral. I just don’t want to waste money on a series that I probably won’t like.
Lastly, the manga-kas should consider ditching the middleman and self publish! By self publishing, they can get more money they deserve and not have it taken by the middleman…
Overall, her misguided rant was stupid… I would also like to point out that sharing is not stealing. If I share a cookie with a friend, would I consider that stealing? Absolutely not.
Is it me or MyAnimeList made more unnece…
Is it me or MyAnimeList made more unnecessary changes, like messing with the lists? Found this tweet made by @Yumeka36
Does anyone like the fact that MAL took away the “Show All” feature for lists? XP http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=218454
From http://twitter.com/yumeka36/status/16005991374
At Melative, we will never pull shit like this*… So if you can’t stand the changes the owner of MyAnimeList force on you, do yourself a favor and switch to Melative or AnimePlanet. That will make him listen or not.
Notes: To clarify, RyanA will never change anything that major without notifying the users. In this case, the owner of MAL failed to notify all the users that he is changing the functionality of the site. This is why he is getting a lot of complaints from many users.
Third Strike, CNN takes another aim at Eroge yet again
Seriously, my blood is already boiling. They simply don’t understand and they will never understand, like those un-American Tea Baggers.
I feel like raeging, but I can’t since I have raeg about the issue how many times… Two already? Like in baseball, three strikes and you out… and this is the third, so fuck CNN and their biased Anti-Eroge articles… they can (censored) themselves.
My thoughts on Danny Choo's new Anime Project on Melative
This to sum it up:
kicked Chinka
WTF Danny Choo is going to ruin the Anime Industry by producing shitty anime. I can’t wait when it comes out so I can bash this piece of shit.
Thats right… and the story doesn’t seem so appealing… so when everyone goes watch it when it comes out and everyone finds out that it’s a piece of shit, moe and cliched story that Danny Choo will look bad after this…
And If I have the opportunity, I will retsupurae it and mock it what it is worth.
Reputation System and Trolls
Getting hit with 7 points off from my total because of some trolls decide to personally attack me is ungrateful. They can go <censored>.. themselves…
For god sake, there needs to be reform of this reputation system, but as Rentlessflame said, “all rep points are absolutely meaningless” and “as they used to say on Whose Line, “everything is made up and the points don’t count”. It means whatever the heck the person giving it wants it to mean.”
Oh well, I’ll regain them some way or another, if I don’t get hit with more troll reps… don’t worry, I still have my points on Melative… 600+ of them. :p
Update: Okay, I regained my 7 points, bringing it back to where it was this morning… I guess I can sleep easily tonight. 🙂
