As you know, I was having a lot of problems with my laptop I normally use, a Late 2008 Macbook Pro. Unfortunately, I had small problems like display and wireless problems that annoyed me. I had my computer fixed 4 times in the two years I had it (I have extended warranty). After I got it back, it was still blinking… I brought it back to Short Hill Apple Store again to try and get a replacement. This is where I got angry. The person who was taking care of me said “it’s like that” and “deal with it”. I don’t think the screen blinking randomly is normal. I never had that problem until I got my screen replaced for wireless and dust issues. I argued with him and he refused to replace my computer. I yelled at him, packed my computer and walked out of the store.
This is no way to treat a customer. If it was the dual graphics, the external display would have blink too, but it doesn’t. Don’t give me lies because “OMG APPLE IS PERFECT” because no product is 100% perfect. Sure some products break more often than others, but don’t deny its a trivial problem. Its still a problem. I plan to take it to a different Apple Store and hopefully it won’t end up in the same mess. If the person deny its a problem, I am going to ask for the manager. I have enough with this fun and games. I have been without my computer for a week and I had to use my old one that doesn’t have my information on it. So yeah, I’ll keep you updated.
And no, I’m not switching back to Windows… I had enough troubles with it when I used it for the last 13+ years.
Update: I went to the appointment and they say it would be addressed in a EFI firmware update… I let them take down some notes on it. Hopefully it fixes it… And nothing else breaks on it.
Update 2: Yesterday my dedicated GPU, nVidia Geforce 9600m GT stopped working normally and causes my computer to lock up at boot or cause graphical glitches. Since I had three major repairs with the screen and logic board, they offered me a replacement with the current model that have a Core i5 which I am using right now. I will write about the new laptop later with unboxing photos. I need to call up Applecare to get the remaining warranty I have left.
