I was on an answering spree last night…
If you could step into the role of any anime character, who would it be?
Answer: A male lead with a harem of females… Every male’s dream. heheh.
which 3 anime you would recommend to people who haven’t watched any anime before ?
Answer: Perhaps Kanon or Clannad as they are pretty deep storyline, good drama and animation. While you at it, just say any Kyoto Animation shows since they do a pretty good job adapting it to a show (Suzumiya Haruhi would be an obvious choice. Watch the first season and the movie. Forget the second, since its garbage).
Any of Makoto Shinkai movie, especially 5 Centimeters Per Second. Its good stuff. Also, any Miyazaki movie would do fine as well.
1st anime character that you fell in love with ?
Answer: Shiori Misaka…
Why? Her story is pretty touching. The second character that I love is Misuzu Kamio for the same reasons.
Say you’re feeling down, is there an anime that’ll cheer you up after watching it ?
Answer: K-ON! Cake and tea will make everything better.
Do you feel you can be captivated by an anime or any story such that the feeling of absorption is very noticeable? Name that series! đ
Answer: Air, Clannad After Story, 5 Centimeters Per Second, Kanon, K-ON!!
Do you have some ritual you do before/after you watch anime?
Answer: From experience, I find that watching Anime in college a lot eaiser than high school even if the course load is a bit more than HS.
1. You always have access to a laptop during free time and Uni Wifi. HS usually doesn’t allow you to use laptops at school. Even if they did, you risk getting it stolen or broken.
2. Freedom. With college, you have free time if you do your work ahead of time.
From the past two years of going to college, I always managed to fit Anime in my schedule… HS is simply tedious with the everyday HW. This made following a series while trying to cover it a bit difficult.
Would you ever use a streaming site or keep using fansubs for currently airing Anime?
Answer: Fansubs…. I hate streaming sites since they don’t give you much freedom and they cost money. I rather use that money on buying the actual DVDs, which I can use on other devices.
Also, don’t forget to answer the questions I had asked: http://4ms.me/9LxFip, http://4ms.me/aD5khf

Just recently, Author aka Pete Zaitcev of Ani-Nouto have posted a good number of blogs that died in July… and the number of blogs that died troubled me since typically, anime blogs have a trend of fading away with a good number of blogs staying alive for a long period of time.
Come to think of it, many of the blogs on Notcliche faded away, besides myself, Notcliche and Sun Shattered Glass, most of the Anime related blogs are pretty much inactive with Randotaku adding to the list of inactive blogs on the network. Its pretty tragic to see blogs fade away like that… but then again, theres always new Anime Blogs that takes it place, so I don’t see a problem… the circle of life in the AniBlogosphere, the strongest will have the less likelihood of fading away.
Also, congrats to Major Arcana for another year of good blogging (they turn 4 and 1 respectively). Let’s hope the AniBlogosphere have a bright future.
What is your favorite web site (excluding your own!) without question?
Answer: Well, besides the Anime Blogs I read, I would have to say Melative since it’s a kick ass media catalogging service, even though it’s not easy to use as MAL…
As for blogs, I think Anime Instrumentality, Mainichi Anime Yume and Major Arcana is the most interesting.
What is your most HATED anime?
Answer: I don’t really hate any titles… but Kampfer since the male lead is a big wuss… Also, Fruits Basket since it was so cliched and boring. :/
What show could you repeatedly watch without getting tired of it?
Answer: It depends on the show. Shows that have high rewatch values tend to be the ones I watch over again, most namely the shows on my favorites list.
Who are your favorite and most hated seiyuu?
Answer:Since I haven’t really watched that many shows, I can’t really say which is my favorite or what I hate the most. Then again, I don’t really hate any voice actors in general.
What is your favorite non-anime show?
Answer: Sadly, I don’t really watch any more non-anime shows, since I can’t really say what is my favorite.
If you could step into the role of any anime character, who would it be?

Life seems to cause all the drama in high school and college that causes hardship and pain. If you heard about the tragedy with Tyler Clementi, its hardships like this that shows the ugly side of life as a result of the two college students broadcasting of the victimâs a sexual encounter. My mentioning of this is things that people, not just Anime Fans go through with.[3. Orig Picture Source.]
Furthermore, I am pretty sure that you have gone through some tragic events that affected your life such as a relationship that did not work out, loss of a family member or people bullying you because you are a minority. After reading Aorii’s first anniversary post on her blog that relates her difficulties to ones that the characters in an Anime goes through, it give me some thought on how Anime could relate to the hardships I have gone through in my life.

Its true that ADV lost the licensed to the most beautiful movie that I reviewed yesterday. Just recently, Crunchyroll obtain the rights to redistribute it with a re-do of the whole dub. However, someone at AnimeSuki became dissatisfied when Crunchyroll decided to be an ass and ruin the ending of the movie.
One sour note – believe it or not, Viz Cinema cut off the screening in the middle of “One More Time, One More Chance”! Seriously – with about 5 minutes left, the house lights came up and some moron from Crunchyroll started telling everyone that they were going to cut the movie short so that they could start the VIP reception in the lobby.
Because of their dicky move, I decided to boycott Crunchyroll for this despicable act… I mean, such a good movie doesn’t deserve this kind of treatment. It was also disrespectful towards Makoto Shinkai who made this masterpiece. They owe everyone an apology for doing this…
Then again, it doesn’t matter anyway because I don’t like Crunchyroll and I don’t like their practices of locking users into the flash player or the iphone app for streaming without the option to download the episode to any device.
She makes a very good point about tsunderes:
Tsundere behavior is illogical by nature and usually found in people who developed a rather specific personality: prideful yet lacking self-confidence. This leads to a rather bipolar personality where they either deny or hide their vulnerabilities â because the lack of confidence makes them feel very unsafe about it â while erecting a prickly barrier around themselves and indulging in self-denial to protect their pride; not to mention using
violentoverreactions to compensate for embarrassment.
Pretty much hit the bullseye. Its very likely to see this in any tsunderes nowadays, even if they aren’t voiced by the Tsundere Queen.
Came across this post today and yes, its pretty hard to convince people that Anime is just childish cartoons because we all know, Anime is catered for both children and adults. They are simply looking in the wrong places.
The best places to look for mature looking anime is looking for shows in the Seinen or Josei demographics. These shows are praised for its realism, maturity and its drama with a few exceptions. Here are some shows to look out for that don’t contain any or little ecchi (on top of my head):
Aria (series)
Air
Clannad
Kanon
ef (series)
True tears
Honey and Clover
Nodame Cantabile
5 Centimeters Per Second
Also, don’t give up! If they are still unconvinced, you can’t say that you haven’t tried.
I have read Janette’s post on the “Witch Hunt” crackdown of Umineko and it begs to differ.
Where can I get a legal, translated copy of Umineko?
There is none… The only way to get the game is hope to find a copy online, import it and apply the translation. However, wouldn’t it be easier for the visual novel company to license the game to a company like MangaGamers and have them sell a legal copy of the VN with an official translation? That is a pipedream since most visual novel companies are now hostile to foreigners because of the idiotic attack by (un)Feminism Now on Eroge Games… Blame them for the companies reluctance to license the game to other companies with localized translations because we will never see a legal alternative for VNs… if ever.
Also, blame PeTA too…
