I have learned the hard way when I try to change all the URLs to the new domain. Apparently, phpmyadmin I’m using don’t export the whole table, so I only have like half the posts exported and the other half missing. Luckily, I was able to recover it from MacJournal (blogging software) and Google Reader and Cache.
No user should ever have to mess with the WordPress tables. If you do… you are asking for trouble. If you want to change the URLs, just export all your posts with the built in exporter, replace the old URLs with the new one and import them back in… I learned that the hard way…
So if you get a new domain and need to change the urls, use that route… not export the WP_Posts table and fiddle around with it.
